CHURCH ON THE AIR

While driving to  share the word of God in a Church, I was tuned in to Christian radio. Full five minutes, this radio preacher wasted in requesting people to call in to his live show to encourage his preaching. Ultimately, after his show I called in and asked what did he preach that touched the nerve centre of your listeners?  People all over the World are suffering under hunger and disease. Preach for some remedy. Violence, World over has taken human toll far greater than the first and second World  wars.  Jesus in all the four synoptic Gospel has asked you to care for the hungry and starving and suffering. He did not preach to the stones, but to the living souls.  His outstanding commandment  stands out and says, go and go and go!! Do not stay in your cozy, comfortable zone.  You are doing nothing than begging for donation. In  31 oct,1992 Pope Paul 11 asked forgiveness for sins of the Church for innocent men and women killed by Roman Catholic Church and said Galileo was right, Crusade over Muslims was unjustified, In WW 11 under Hitler and his political partner Mussolini killed over 6 million Jews, but the Church remained dumb founded.  all these atrocities were committed over humanity, but Church did not say a single word.

In a World of today, 168 Million children are child laborers all over the world, where as they should be in schools. 124 million  children are out of school, either they have no means to go to schools or else there are no schools. Talking about India over 5 million people sleep hungry every night or are half starved.

My preacher friend/radio host, do not be dismayed. I am one of you. One day, according to our faith both you and myself will stand before that mighty God. He will ask us both. You were anointed above all to serve and care as once Jesus professed-

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor, He has sent me to heal the broken hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives and recovering sight to the blind and to set at liberty those who are bruised.”(Luke 4:18-19)

My coworkers in the Field of ministry, take responsibility.  Be a perfume of the Cross. Surely, you do not have to  implore that people should listen to you, if really it is message powered under the spirit of the Lord, people will surely listen. May the power and spirit of God abide by you all forever and ever. Amen. ( Last Sunday my sermon in the Pentecostal Church Scarborough Ont. Canada)
