Alexander – finding a way to conquer death

After conquering the world at a very young age, Alexander began to find a way to conquer death. He had heard of a Fakir who lived in an isolated cave with no contacts with the world. His fame and powers were well known and talked about. But his address was not known. The king ordered to find the Fakir. After a great deal of search the Fakir was found and Alexander went alone to meet him. It was a hard journey even for the hardened and young king. Finally, when the king reached the old Fakir and, after paying his respects, put his request to him. The Fakir listened to him and after some thought advised him to go to a certain well and drink water from it. He told him the way to the well, which was not easy. But the King was a man of great determination and after some wandering fond the well. He was very happy and could not wait to drink the water. As he was drawing water from the well, an old crow who was sitting nearby told the King not to drink that water. The King told the crow that he found the well after such a long difficult search and why should he not drink the water. The crow told him: I drank this water a very long time back and now I cannot die. As the years went by my strength reduced and it is hard for me to even move, let alone fly. My children and people I loved died. So did my friends. The next generations did not even know me. I have no one to love and no one loves me. I feel so lovely and dejected and want to die but I live and suffer all this pain, sorrow and loneliness. The King’s eyes were opened and understood that there is time for everything.
As king Solomon writes in the book of Ecclesiastes write: There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to sow and a time to uproot, a time to mourn and a time to dance. This is the secret of life but it takes a long time to realize it as the Great King found out.
